Kinja'd!!!

So I have built a Browning 1919 machine gun as a semi auto toy. Do any of you like to build vintage ‘Merican firearms?

I’ve got some ‘Murican stuff, but nothing terribly vintage.

I used to have a ridiculous number of what my friend Andy called “Euro-fag 9s”. At peak 9mm, I had a Glock 17, a Glock 19c, an HK P7M13, two Swiss-made SIG (not SIG Sauer) P210s, two Swiss-made Sphinx AT2000s (different lengths), a Walther p38 (from the war), and an HK USP. Now I just have the G19 and the P38. I really really really wish I’d kept the P7M13 and at least one of the SIGs.

The P7s are pretty nifty. I’ve played with a couple before but never wanted to pony up the cash for one. Apparently there are guys using them for daily carry though.

I could if I would. I often toy with the idea that if my assembly skills were more advanced, I would buy as many G.I 1911A1 parts and build my own 1911A1 instead of hopelessly searching for one that's under 2 grand in price. Just 16 more months until I'm legal for a handgun purchase, of course by that point, G.I 1911A1s could be unobtainable for someone like me. So, yeah, I'll keep the build option in mind.

Nice. In Cali so I think I’ll try and scare up a M1 carbine and tinker around with that maybe try to bottle neck it same case smaller bullet.

Is 50 years old enough to be vintage? If so I enjoy building AR-15's.

I’m a Marine, I have a few toys.

These are based on a Browning. Old German man makes the rest.

Your taste in euro 9mms is superb. Two of my three 9mms are european (CZ SP-01 and FN Hi-Power MkIII, the third is a S&W 5903), but neither are in that price range.

How did you like the P210s? Most people I’ve talked to who own them love them, but also never shoot them. Also, pity about the P7M13. I wanted one of them for years, but they went out of production before I could afford one, and they’re appreciating so much I can’t justify purchasing one.

I haven’t built a firearm (unless assembling an AR counts), but my Browning Hi-Power has been a long running project. I bought it new in 2011, removed the magazine disconnect in 2012, swapped springs in 2013, added a C&S drop in hammer and sear in late 2013, then Novak sights in early 2014. I lost my slide stop when moving this past October and finally got around to buying a new one last week. Now I’m going to cerakote it, so it’s less ugly from from being f*cked with, and so the slide stop matches (Browning sent me a silver finished one meant for a Hi-Power Practical). That should finish it off...unless I hit the lottery, in which case I send it off to Heirloom Precision for their short reset trigger job.

In other news, I should have bought a CZ75 Pre-B for my first handgun, rather than the BHP. I could have slowly fiddled with that on my way to the inevitable SP-01. Alternately, a surplus Hi-Power would have been a better choice to modify because they’re cheaper to start, but that’s what I get for tinkering rather than having a plan from the beginning.

Bullpup conversion. Shortens the overall length but the barrel stays the same. Has a 4 round clip because that’s the law in Germany.

I have a pristine Hk 93 for sale with every possible option: Bayonet, quick release claw type scope mounts, and the collapsible paratrooper stock. Comes with a ton of extended mags and a harris bipod up front.

I really liked the P210s. They were Danish military surplus, so they had a lot of holster wear. They were never going to be safe queens. They were both in excellent functional condition, but one was prettier than the other. It also shot a tiny bit better.

I had them refinished and my ‘smith located some original stippled wallet grips. After refinishing, the prettier better shooting one was like a brand new gun. I wish I’d kept that one.

I shot both of them quite a bit, probably 1000 rounds a year. I put a similar round count through the P7, which is actually a lot of work. The gas piston makes the trigger area get hot as shit and the piston has to be kept clean which adds a few minutes after every session.

I want the stock! I’ll pay plus ship you a non-collapsing stock. Do you have any 25 round steel mags? I’ve got a couple of the 40 round aluminum that I’ll trade out.
